Winter is in full swing and it's a perfect time to travel! Lets be real though, when is it ever NOT a perfect time to travel!? Never! Back in the day, I gravitated more toward warm weather destination travel, however over the last few years, I have fully embraced winter travel and I have been LOVING it! Here are my fav winter destinations and a few I have on my radar for the next upcoming winters!
1) Iceland: I cannot say enough great things about Iceland and I truly believe its a destination everyone should experience! Iceland is also amazing in the summer, but to experience it in the winter is really magical! Between chasing the Northern Lights, floating in the Blue Lagoon, or taking in the incredible scenery at the Golden Circle and the black sand Beaches of Vic, this winter destination will bring out your adventurous side! Pro tip:Iceland can be very expensive! Save money by staying in an Air B and B so you're able to make some of your own meals and have more cash to spend on experiences!
2.) Vermont: Every year, my college friends and I head to Vermont for our annual Ski Weekend. Over the past 5 years, we've hit up multiple Mountains in Southern Vermont and its always a great time! I love going to Vermont in the winter, because it feels like you're a world away, but its only a quick 2.5 hours north and can be a short weekend away! The perfect quick winter getaway! Whether you're hitting up Mount Snow, Killington, Stratton or Okemo, you're sure to have a great winter trip, so grab you're friends and hit the slopes! Its also great, even if you're not skiing. With tons of Breweries, great restaurants and Aprѐ spots, you'll have a great time no matter what!
Colorado:Denver/Vail- This past year, we went out to Colorado to visit my cousin and enjoy some winter fun!We spent most of our time in Denver, which was super hip, with delicious food, breweries and of course the Red Rocks Amphitheater, which was so cool to see! We also spent some time about an hour an half away in Vail and to say I fell in love was an understatement! First of all, the ride from Denver to Vail was gorge!! I could not believe the size and the beauty of the mountains! They were insane! As far as the actual Vail Mountain/town, it is so cute! It literally feels like you're in Switzerland or some type of European Fairy tail! The buildings are so cute and the Aprѐ scene is to die! The food was delicious too! I highly recommend and I cant wait to go back!
Whats on my radar for Winters to come:
1.) Zermatt Switzerland: I've had Switzerland on my radar for a while now, and I've contemplated about when would be the better time to visit: winter or summer. But ultimately, Switzerland is known for being a winter hot spot and pictures of Zermatt look so incredible! I cant wait to check it out one of these years!
2.) Park City Utah: I've been wanting to hit up Park City ever since the Olympics were there! Again, the town looks so cute and the Aprѐ scene sounds fab! Hopefully I'll be making my way there next year
3.) Aspen: There's a reason the rich and famous flock to Aspen every year and I cant wait to find out what it is! But you know I'll be doing it on a budget!
Now you've got all the info on where to go for the the best winter get away! You've got all summer to be warm, enjoy this cozy winter while it last and most importantly, enjoy the Aprѐ! Cheers!
Thanks for reading!
