Happy Fall Friends! Its been a hot minute since a blog post but its officially time for my 2021 CT Fall Bucket List! There's some old faithfuls here along with some new gems so lets get into it!
1.) Pumpkin Picking and Wine Tasting at Jones Family Farm
- This is my favorite thing to do in CT in the fall! Not only is Jones Family Farm a great place to pick pumpkins, with a huge pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayrides and sunflower picking, but it's also a great place to wine taste and one of my favorite wineries in CT! Pro tip- Go wine tasting before pumpkin picking! The winery packs up, especially at pumpkin season, so go taste some delicious wine, before it gets too crowded, and then go buy all the pumpkins! Try the Beacon Light or Harvest White Wine! You wont be disappointed!
2.) Going along with the whole Pumpkin Picking and Wine Drinking thing, try Rose Orchard and Vineyard.
-This is one of my new favorite spots in CT. Here, you can also apple and pear pick along with have a lovely lunch or charcuterie board at the winery, among the foliage and grapes.
3.)Gouveia Vineyards
- Speaking of Wineries, did fall even happen if you didn't hit up Gouveia and sip wine while overlooking the beautiful changing leaves and that amazing view!? I didn't think so. This is a must! Bust out your most basic outfit and charcuterie board staples and head to Gouveia for the day! BTW, they have a beautiful new patio so there's even more space to take in that spectacular view!
4.) Leaf Peeping
-DUH! Its FALL people! You have to go leaf peeping! Some of the top places to check out the gorgeous colors in CT are Kent, Mohawk State Forest, East Rock, Litchfield, or my Fav, Sleepy Giant State Park!
5.) Hickory Hill Orchard
- This is on of my favorite places to pop in during fall. It's such a cute little orchard with pumpkin picking, apple picking and a store full of fall treats. I get my mums and pumpkins there every year! Its never too crowded and I buy A LOT of mums and pumpkins there every year and they always have good prices!
6.) Sip some local Pumpkin Beer
You're Favorite CT Breweries have some of the best pumpkin beer out there! Support local small business and taste the flavors of the season! My Favorite is Two Road's Roadsmary's Baby
7.) Fall Foliage Cruise
-I haven't done this yet but I always wanted to!! Maybe this year will be the year! Cruise the Connecticut River and take in the beauty! What better way to peep the foliage than via boat! Some companies that offer this include Lady Katherine Cruises and RiverQuest
8.) Hit up a famous CT Fair
- Visit one of the many fairs all around CT throughout the fall and indulge all the delicious food!
9.)Visit a Cider Mill
-CT is actually home to the oldest operating Cider Mill in the Country! If you're ready for some legit apple Cider and apple cider donuts (obvi) look no further than CT! Check out Beardsley Cider Mill and Hogans Cider Mill!
10.) Essex Steam Train
- If you're looking for a creative way to Leaf Peep, The Essex Steam Train is a unique and fun way to check out the beautiful colors!
