If you haven't caught on yet, I'm pretty obsessed with fall! So much to the point, that I don't like to waste one minute of it! That's why every year I make a fall bucket list! This year, I thought it would be fun to share, so you can have the best fall ever too! Get ready to get your fall on and see my fav fall things to do in the lovely state of CT during this glorious season!
1.) Pumpkin Picking and Wine Tasting at Jones Family Farm
- This is my favorite thing to do in CT in the fall! Not only is Jones Family Farm a great place to pick pumpkins, with a huge pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayrides and sunflower picking, but it's also a great place to wine taste and one of my favorite wineries in CT! Pro tip- Go wine tasting before pumpkin picking! The winery packs up, especially at pumpkin season, so go taste some delicious wine, before it gets too crowded, and then go buy all the pumpkins! Try the Beacon Light or Harvest White Wine! You wont be disappointed!
2.)Gouveia Vineyards
- Speaking of Wineries, did fall even happen if you didn't hit up Gouveia and sip wine while overlooking the beautiful changing leaves and that amazing view!? I didn't think so. This is must! Bust out your most basic outfit and charcuterie board staples and head to Gouveia for the day! BTW, they have a beautiful new patio so there's even more space to take in that spectacular view!
3.) Leaf Peeping
-DUH! Its FALL people! You have to go leaf peeping! Some of my favorite places to take in the changing colors around CT are Sleeping Giant State Park and East Rock. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even hike Sleeping Giant for some great views! Its back open, just in time for fall!
4.) Hickory Hill Orchard
- This is on of my favorite places to pop in during fall. It's such a cute little orchard with pumpkin picking, apple picking and a store full of fall treats. I get my mums and pumpkins there every year! Its never too crowded and I buy A LOT of mums and pumpkins they always have good prices!
5.)Arrigoni Winery
- Another Great CT winery, located in Portland. I love this winery in the fall because they decorate so perfectly and they have pumpkin wine! They have a great fire place and usually have live music. Great for a relaxing fall day!
6.)Fairs and Festivals!
- From the Durham Fair to the Apple Harvest Festival, CT is full of fairs and festivals all fall long! Find your favorite or hit up multiple all September and October and enjoy good food and fun times!
7.) Yale/UCONN Football Game
- Who doesn't love a good tailgate!? Grab your friends, a grill and some hot chocolate and tailgate at Yale Bowl or Rentschler Field before the watching the home team take on whoever it is they're playing!
8.) Two Road Ok2berfest
- One of my favorite days of fall is always Two Roads Ok2berfest! I can't say enough about what a great job Two Roads does with putting on Festivals, and Ok2berfest is no exception! From beer, to a ferris wheel to flower crowns and giant pretzels, its a great day to act German and enjoy the fall season! This year, Ok2berfest just past, but they are having an upcoming RoadMarys Baby Festival (their pumpkin beer) coming up in October and its not too late to check that out and pencil Ok2berfest in your calendar for next year!
Now that your'e in the know, get out there you Connecticut peeps, and go enjoy fall!
Thanks for reading!
